Ecolianers enjoyed a special treat last night, on the first Andacht night of the new school year, when the Bulgarian children's dance group "Chortse" arrived on the Hasliberg as part of a European tour. The entire school community gathered in the Hasliberg Congresssaal to watch the children from Sofia perform traditional Bulgarian dances and play traditional songs on Bulgarian instruments. The children ranged in age from ten to sixteen years, and at the end of the night they even invited our students to join them in Bulgarian folkdancing. They came to our school thanks to the hard work of our music teachers, Ernst and Sigi Thöni, who visited Bulgaria some years ago and formed ties to the group which were strengthened by this visit to our part of the world.
