The Treehouse

Beginning of Construction: April 1996
Founder: Pit Bangerter
First Group: Pit Bangerter, Anna Wick, Andreas Suter, Fabian Ramseier, Silvan Roth, Addrich Mauch, Damian Schatzmann, Balz Grütter.

The original tree house was built on six trees and has two stories. No nails were driven into the trees - the beams were roped to the trunks. In November 1997 another platform was built using other trees, and can be reached via a 10-meter hanging bridge. All work was performed by students, with the supervision and permission of the forester and of teacher Philipp Hostetler.

The group sent the week in the tree house without touching the ground(!). The second story was built during this week. Food and water had to be stored in advance. 300 liters of water was carried in 20- and 30-liter containers one kilometer through the woods.
